Max Pacioretty Shanabanned for 3 Games for Hit on Letang

Max Pacioretty hit Kris Letang on open ice on Saturday’s game against the Canadiens. Tanger suffered a broke nose on the play but thankfully came back in over time and scored the game winning goal.

Brendan Shanahan has suspended Max for 3 games. I’m not going to go off on a long winded explanation on this because I am good with the ruling. Completely fair. After what happened to Max last year when he suffered a broken neck from a hit from Zdeno Chara where he flew head first into the turnbuckle. Max should know to be more cautious. He’s a good player. Hope he learns his lesson. This is not typical of his play style.

More after the jump…

Honestly, I expected 2 games. I still do not understand what the standard is here for suspensions. There has been inconsistency which needs to change. Either way. Pretty fair overall. And that sound you hear right now, is the sound of Canadiens fans boo-ing.
