Adirondack Phantoms 2 – Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 3

The Cardiac Kids were at it again yesterday with a thrilling 3rd Period come back victory over the Adirondack Phantoms.
The first period started off much as I predicted it would with a very rusty looking Penguins team. It was gritty twenty minutes of hockey where Adirondack owned the entire first period. ADK’s Matthew Ford scored his first of two goals for the night while Wilke-Barre only managed Delay of Game penalty at the .33 mark. In the second period Ben Street tied the game with a Power Play goal, but it was short lived as Matthew Ford nabbed his second goal of the game pushing Adirondack back into the lead. The second period was riddled with penalties and scoring, but it was a preview of what WBS had in store for the third period. Wilkes-Barre came storming back in the third with two goals only .18 seconds apart. Paul Thompson scored first for the Pens, and then Brandon DeFazio slammed home another one to push the team ahead for their first lead of them game. The final 6+ minutes kept everyone on the edge of their seat as Scott Munroe took the reigns and carried the Pens to their 3-2 victory.
