I didn’t get to watch the game too closely because I have a sick kid so I won’t be writing a recap, but your feel good moment of the day:
That right there, is every reason in the world to watch and enjoy hockey. (You can see the goal here.)
Unrelated note, I sat Chris Kunitz today in fantasy and played James Neal. Had to sit someone! Everyone plays today!!! Logic: Kuni is “under the weather.” I am now repeatedly punching myself in the face.
Today was a vast improvement!
Congratulations to Brandon Sutter on his first goal as a Penguin and to Robert Bortuzzo on his first career NHL goal. It was a pretty one too off a pass from Sidney Crosby, who also looked more today like the Crosby we know. Bortuzzo needs to be a permanent fixture on the Pens roster.
The power play is still a nightmare, but overall, the Pens played a solid 60 minutes. Secondary scoring has returned. Winning 5-1 against Martin Brodeur after a shutout against Henrik Lundqvist is never unwelcome!
Pens play again in like 20 minutes so see ya’ll at puck drop!
